VOLUNTARY RISK REPORTING

What Is It

Voluntary risk reporting allows individuals to report newly identified risks freely. It integrates risk identification into the routine project activities through a systematic distribution and voluntary submission of Risk Information Sheets or status reports on newly identified risks.

When To Use

Use this method

  • To continuously identify risks.
  • To enable everyone in the project to contribute to the risk identification process.
  • To allow anonymous identification of risks.
  • To integrate risk reporting directly into routine project activities.

Benefits

This method

  • Encourages any individual to continually identify risks.
  • Enables any individual to identify a risk in a project-wide involvement.
  • Provides an opportunity for independent input at any time, especially if there are no regular meetings where new risks can be brought up.
  • Is useful in a culture that does not have open communication or trust.
  • Is easily integrated into project practices through routine meetings and existing reports.
