PERT CHARTS
What Is It
A program evaluation and review technique (PERT) chart
is as a common tool to manage time and cost. It can be
used to manage a complex risk mitigation strategy along
with its associated activities. It should illustrate a
network of activity paths, including a critical path of
activities, duration of activities, and the projected
completion time of the project.
When To Use
Use this method to manage time and cost of a network of
activities associated with project risk mitigation
planning.
Benefits
This method:
- Sets target dates for starting and stopping of
risk activities for controlled time management.
- Depending on its complexity, shows sequence and
duration of each activity, as well as slack on
activities, in relation to the critical paths.
