Software Development Process : This section describes the activites that constitute the full life cycle of a software development iteration starting through Requirements Engineering to Maintainenace phase. Moreover it includes graphical notation of the various cycles that take place in these phases. Each major development Phase has example output artificates and templates to use to produce artifacts with the help of which one can develop a project with minute details and a deliverable that can be delivered to the customer. To view information on each phase, artifact and template you can click the particular phase and get the details.
Project
Plan : This section provides details related to project management. It has links which provide a template that can be used to record project metrics in a consistent manner : Project Metrics Workbook and another link of an excel sheet which can be downloaded and is the actual workbook. The details of the subcomponents of a project plan namely - Task durations and dependencies, Allocation of personnel to tasks, Activity network and milestone description, Activity bar chart and Staff allocation versus time.
Software Development Process - Navigation Tree :This section presents a navigation tree that
represents all of the activities that are part of this software
development process. The execution of those activities should
be in the following order with reference to the navigation tree: top
-> bottom and left -> right. The tree is followed with a Navigation Tree Key which has the expansion of acronynms and more information can be obtained by clicking on the expansions.
A sample of a project performed according to this software development process :This link points to a word document which can be downloaded and then viewed. It is the documentation of a project which was performed according to the guidelines and processes described in the above section. The project is about a Pulsar Microwave Oven which is a convenient kitchen appliance that allows users to cook, heat, or defrost food items in a relatively short amount of time. The goals and objectives for this project:
