Re-Analyze Desirability of
Most Desired Options
If two options appear to be
roughly equal in regards to their desirability, it will be imporant to
break the tie by conducting a second assessment of those options that
are considered equal and best.
The
bottom line is that some action must be taken as a result of the
feasibility assessment. One approach might be to just take a
vote
between all of the options that are deemed to be the best (and thus of
equal desirability). Another approach might be to have an
independent analysis of just the best options in order to break the tie.
If a separate analysis of the reduced set (hopefully) of best options
is conducted, it might be less comprehensive than the original
assessment. If the first assessment utilized AHP (Analytic
Hierarchical Process), perhaps a simple decision matrix using score and
weight multiplicands for each option would be sufficient.
Developing a system when it is not the best option might be
risky. When developing a new system is not the most
desirable option and is also considered not feasible, then it is not
advisable to proceed with the project.
