Overview for CSCI 5433-60

This course will provide students a background of principles, design and implementation of object-oriented database systems. An overall goal is to give the student the knowledge and practical experience in setting up an object-oriented database system from scratch.

Topics to Be Covered

In addition to principles of object-oriented database systems, students will learn analysis, design, implementation processes of an object-oriented database system, and then develop web applications to store and retrieve objects using object-oriented DBMSs, such as db4o, ObjectStore (documentation), GemStone/Java, or object/relational DBMS ORACLE, through group projects.
