Background
Messages are shown on interaction diagrams. They are used to show the invocation
of an operation or the sending of a signal.
Naming Standards
There are no naming standards for messages.
A message can be unassigned, meaning that its name is a temporary string that describes
the overall meaning of the message and is not the name of an operation of the receiving
object. The message can then be assigned by specifying the operation of the
message's destination object that is to be invoked. The specified operation's name
will then replace the name of the message.
Documentation
All Message documentation is optional. Where applicable the message documentation
should be used to qualify why the message is being sent within the context of the
interaction being described. |
