TIME GRAPH

What Is It

Time graphs are used to document the values of risk indicators over time. Also known as run charts, time graphs plot the data as a function of time for trends or patterns. For risk management, time graphs could be used, for example, to plot risk impacts and probabilities over time.

When To Use

Use time graphs
  • To identify trends in the chosen status indicators over time.
  • As part of Mitigation Status Reports where risk impact and probability are tracked against the mitigation plan over time.

Benefits

This method
  • Provides visual aid in tracking the progress of a mitigation strategy over a period of time.
  • Helps to identify trends before trigger values are reached.
  • Graphically represents data collected.
