STAR Project - The STAR Scholars Program recognizes students who have the potential to succeed in the IT industry, and helps them to jumpstart their careers with a CS or CIS degree. I spearheaded this program in Fall 2007, and as of Fall 2007, 6 STAR scholars are attending UHCL.

 

"Programming Challenge '08 - This was the first Programming Challenge held at UHCL. Eleven teams from surrounding community colleges and UHCL competed in two levels of competition. The event was organized by a partnership of UHCL computer science faculty members, industrial partners, community college faculty members, student scholars and mentors, and UHCL students.

 
 

BSC Club - The BSC CyberCenter is an online resource designed to aid students in their pursuit of Academic excellence in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The BSC program is focused on engaging activities to draw students' interest to STEM fields, and show them how they can pursue STEM careers.

 

Robotics Programming Challenge 2014 - The Robotics Programming Challenge provided a chance for teams of students to showcase their building and robotic programming abilities, and a chance to win many prizes and internships.

 

STEM Challenge 2015 - The STEM Challenge is a fun way for students to showcase their STEM skills! The Challenge is organized as a team-based competition with two levels: Beginner and Advanced. Each team will rotate through a series of challenges and have a chance to demonstrate skills such as: problem solving, critical thinking, creative engineering, and more.
