DESCRIPTION: Survey of basic concepts of geology, oceanography, meteorology and astronomy.

Objective:To provide the student with basic knowledge of geology, oceanography, meteorology and astronomy.

Methodology:1. Lectures on new concepts. Lectures include real time use of fo web resources, videos and live demonstrations.
2. Demonstration of scientific method (entire class participation)
3. Daily quiz over assigned material.
(You must take 80% of daily quizes, otherwise an extra 1 hr comprehensive exam is required)
4. review of study questions prior to exams.
5. Post review of material from daily quizes and major exams.
6. Three 1-hour exams.
