DESCRIPTION: Survey of natural processes of the Earth involving floods, fire, earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, volcanic eruptions, climate change, severe weather, and impacts by objects from space.

Objective:To provide the student with basic understanding of how natural disasters happen and their consequences through the use of case histories.

Methodology:1. Lectures on new concepts. Lectures include real time use of web resources, videos and live demonstrations.
2. Demonstration of scientific method (entire class participation)
3. review of study questions prior to exams.
4. Four 1-hour exams.
