One Day Workshop on Embedding Cybersecurity into Computer Science Curriculum

UHCL Cybercorps Project will host its first faculty development workshop to train potential users (community college and university faculty, and local school district teachers) of the courseware developed through this project, including the hands-on labs. UHCL instructors will be encouraged to participate.

Workshop Objectives

At the end of the workshop, attendees will:

  • Learn effective ways to modernize existing cybersecurity curriculum to meet current standards and guidelines
  • Be introduced to the new courseware and modules developed in Cyber Defense, Network Defense and Network Forensics
  • Understand how to align the courses to the National Cybersecurity Workforce Framework
  • Understand hands-on learning in security education by incorporating SEED labs
  • Audience

    The workshop is of interest to instructors and faculty from local schools and colleges who teach Computer Science or Information Technology courses with a cybersecurity or security component. A certificate of participation that accounts for professional development hours will be awarded to all the participants.
